The wedding weekend of October 15th & 16th was one of our favorite events to date. On a warm autumn Saturday afternoon, family and friends of Cris and Beth came together in Durham, NC to celebrate their union. Following their heartfelt ceremony at First Presbyterian Church, the guests congregated on the first floor of the Inn to eat, drink and be married! Thanks to the perfect coordination by Grace Leisure Events, the weekend ran smoothly and the design was sophisticated and stunning. Tre Bella Flowers incorporated the velvety reds, warm yellows and deep oranges of Fall into the bouquets and arrangements at the Inn. Guests noshed on the delicious passed dinner courses that were created by the talented Durham Catering Company while Locopops and Daisy Cakes provided the sweet to compliment the savory. The bluegrass band, The Steep Canyon Rangers (coming to DPAC on May 21st!), got the crowd on their feet in the Parlor. Moving the parlor's sofa and arm chairs, an impromptu dance floor was created and the guests could not stop dancing! When the band wrapped up, everyone migrated to Brodie Duke Hall which doubled as the hospitality suite and karaoke lounge for the weekend. Many of the overnight guests stayed up until the wee hours of the morning singing and laughing!

It is obvious that we have a passion for breakfast, but we don't discriminate against lunch or dinner! We are lucky to be in one of the South's food meccas. There are 39 restaurants located within a half mile of the Inn. From January 24th-30th, we encourage all locals and out of town guests to attend the Triangle Restaurant Week! An array of delicious restaurants will participate in the cuisine extravaganza. During the week, the participants will offer a $15.00 lunch special and $20.00 or $30.00 dinner special (both three courses!). We plan to dine at some of our favorite restaurants next week including Four Square, Piedmont, Pop's and Watts Grocery!

On January 19th, The King's Daughters Inn is hosting a fantastic event, "Ask The Experts".
The "best of the best" vendors in the Triangle have come together to participate in an informal and intimate discussion in our parlor (see left for the parlor's ceremony set up). These experts will be available to answer your specific questions and help guide you through your planning. Private tours of the Inn, sampling of Sweet Memories desserts and a raffle drawing of prizes from each vendor will be given away!

It was another successful evening with delicious cuisine provided by Mark Day Catering and Mark Day To Go. The desserts from Sweet Memories were a huge hit. Our favorite is the raspberry parfaits (see left)! Many Duke employees were able to tour the Inn and learn more about our special rates. Thank you all who were able to attend!

For this evening, we have been outfitted by our new in house linens (chocolate brown, royal blue and ivory) and our favorite three sisters, Tre Bella Flowers, have created gorgeous centerpieces to make the dining room look elegant. We have chosen beverages from the Inn's wine selection to pair with scrumptious hors d'oeuvres served by We Cook For You Catering. To top it all off, desserts will be served by Sweet Memories Bakery and Candyland Buffet.
