Vendor Spotlight: A Rainy Day Romance by Jessica Arden Photography

Weddings at The King's Daughters Inn are unique, fun and sophisticated, but we could never pull off these lovely events without the help of some wonderful vendors! Miss Jessi is a true Durhamite through and through. She has an amazing eye for weddings, styled photo shoots (see below) and family photos. Here is a little bit about her experience at the Inn!

The day of my photo shoot with Tre Bella Bridal was cool and gloomy outside.   The moment I set foot into the warm foyer of the King’s Daughter’s Inn, I immediately forgot about the cold.

 I felt transported into a different time and place.  Delicious smells wafting from the kitchen, vases full of fresh flowers, a gorgeous bride perched delicately on a bench.  The scene is set beautifully for a wedding.  And it’s like this everyday.

As I we ventured up the stairs, each room was a lovely as the next.  When you rent the King’s Daughters Inn out for your wedding, your guests can each have a room of their choosing.  Whichever room I was standing in was my favorite.  The purple room (The Parrish Suite) just oozes old Hollywood glamour while hallways remind me of New York’s famous Algonquin Hotel, but more French and of course, fabulous.  Each room is as unique as your wedding guests, and includes all the luxury and charm needed to make you feel special and well taken care of.

Recap: Our Annual Valentine's Day Wine Tasting

Guests were greeted with a champagne glass & first pairing and directed to the Parlor.

It was wonderful to meet new faces and catch up with old friends of the Inn. We adored seeing couples celebrate their love over a glass of bubbles and some soft Sam Cooke playing in the background.  

The most popular taste was the Mollydooker Miss Molly sparkling Shiraz! It was certainly a change of pace from our white sparklings that we usually serve. Not to mention the pairing of roast beef (or portabella mushrooms) with Colman mustard sauce was absolutely sublime. 

We look forward to our next public event! We have such a great time hosting and enjoying conversation with all the local supporters!

Nicole & Mike's Nuptials!

I met with Nicole several months ago and she was determined to have a small, intimate wedding with delicious food and close family and friends. After a few months of planning, the small, intimate wedding had grown substantially! When chatting about the size of the wedding, I told her that it's exciting to have so many people want to come celebrate with you! She quipped, "No one ever thought we would get married, I think they all wanna see if it actually happens!" And so her original plan of 40 turned to 65 lovely guests that enjoyed the weekend with us at the Inn! 

Of course, the weddings we host are always accompanied by talented vendors that make the day run smoothly and beautifully. 

Amanda Scott, of A Swanky Affair, was on-site to make sure all the bride's DIY details were set in place. In addition, she always makes sure the ceremony is perfect. The dimmed lights in the back of the parlor created a glowing light surrounding the couple and wedding party. Robin Renteria officiated the wedding and incorporated Nicole and Mike's 

personalities and family into the evening ceremony.

Durham Catering Company helped set the tables for the delicious family style meal. The Private Dining Room was transformed into the head table space for the bride, groom and wedding party. The mahogany chivari chairs from American Party Rentals complimented our Main Dining Room chairs perfectly.

Mad Hatter Bakery provided an adorable cake and an array of cupcakes to flank the side board in the Private Dining Room.

After the cake cutting and toasts, the group danced the night away in the Brodie Duke Hall.

Tre Bella is Très Chic!

It's no secret that the three sisters of Tre Bella Flowers + Bridal are the most talented and sweet siblings in the Triangle wedding industry. Becky, Rachael & Kate had a vision several years ago to create an event that would focus on the needs of a bride, but also have the ability to make it glamorous, fun and empowering. This year's 'ALTAR EGO' is no exception! The New York Times (ahem...which we were in last month) Best Selling Author, Emily Giffin (Something Blue (2005), Baby Proof (2006), Love the One You’re With (2008) and Heart of the Matter (2010) ), will kick off the event as a guest speaker at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. The evening will proceed with cocktails, hors d'ouerves, shopping and then the amazing bridal fashion show! In addition to a lovely evening of fun, all proceeds from the event go to Girls on the Run of the Triangle NC!
